The launch is a result of four years of development at Adidas and was trialled at an unveiling in Auckland today by some of our up and coming junior swimmers.

The new swimwear is an industry first for Adidas, who’ve pioneered designs with variations of suits for specific strokes.

They incorporate two types of material to reduce drag and special bands that help the body snap back into the correct position when swimmers launch from the starting blocks.

However, Lauren Boyle and Sophie Pascoe won’t race in the new suits – instead opting to continue their association with Speedo.
